The flywheel makes everything smooth. Its job is to smooth out the power from the motor to the machine. The only way that a clutch will work is if it is attached to the flywheel. The flywheel and the clutch work together to create friction.


A car clutch disengages the engine flywheel from the vehicle’s transmission input shaft. A clutch begins to work when you push its pedal down. This is what frees the clutch from gripping. While the clutch is pressed down, you move the shift lever to the desired gear.

A vehicle’s clutch connects and disconnects the two rotating shafts inside your car. The clutch’s job is to transfer power from your transmission.
