Our Hunter Hawkeye Elite uses laser imaging and cameras mounted at all four wheels to measure camber, caster, toe, and thrust angle simultaneously — no manual measurements, no drift from tech to tech. Produces a printed before-and-after report showing every angle vs OEM specification. You see exactly what changed and what the final numbers are.
Chico's truck culture means we see a lot of lifted trucks — Tacomas, Silverados, F-150s, Tundras, and Jeep Wranglers running Fabtech and Rough Country lifts. Lifting changes caster angle significantly — trucks without post-lift alignment wander on CA-32 and Hwy 99 and wear tires in 15,000 miles instead of 50,000. We install the lift and set the alignment in one appointment.
Alignment can't hold if suspension components are worn. Before aligning, we inspect and document all four corners: tie rod ends, ball joints, control arm bushings, strut condition, sway bar links and end links. Worn components are quoted before the alignment — we don't align over parts that need replacement.
Shocks and struts control body motion — they don't support vehicle weight but they control how quickly the suspension rebounds after a bump. Worn shocks cause excessive bounce on Chico's rough railroad crossings and CA-32's agricultural ruts. Struts affect alignment angles — strut replacement always includes a post-replacement alignment.
Car pulling to one side on a straight flat road. Steering wheel off-center at straight ahead. Uneven tire wear — one edge wearing faster than the other. Vehicle drifting when you release the steering wheel.
Outer edge wear = negative camber or under-inflation. Inner edge wear = positive camber. Feathering = toe misalignment. Center wear = over-inflation. Cupping/scalloping = worn shocks. Alignment alone doesn't fix all uneven wear — we identify the root cause first.
Pull toward one side while driving straight. Could be alignment (most common), unequal tire pressure, different tire construction on same axle, or a dragging brake caliper. We test all four before attributing pull to alignment.
Shaking at highway speed = tire balance. Shaking during braking = warped rotors. Shaking at all speeds = alignment or suspension component. Each has a different fix — we identify which before recommending a service.
Clunk over bumps = worn ball joint or control arm bushing. Squeak = sway bar link or end link. Pop = strut top mount. Each noise pattern points to a specific component. We diagnose with a road test and lift inspection before quoting.
Trucks wandering on Hwy 99 = worn tie rods, loose steering gear, or misalignment from Chico's road conditions. Jeep death wobble = worn track bar, loose drag link, or worn ball joints amplified by aftermarket lift. Both diagnosable and fixable.
Standard 4-wheel alignment $169.99. Alignment check (measure only, no adjustment) also $169.99, free with new tires, suspension work, or lift installation. Custom alignment for lifted, lowered, or performance vehicles: 2-hour minimum at $199.99/hr. Camber/caster kit installs: 2.5hr+ labor + $200+ parts.
Yes. Fabtech and Rough Country lift installs with post-lift alignment using the Hunter Hawkeye Elite. Custom lifted alignment is 2-hour minimum at $199.99/hr — more if caster correction or cam bolt kits are needed. We document all angles before and after.
Every 12,000–15,000 miles or once a year. After any suspension or steering repair. After hitting a significant pothole on CA-32 or Hwy 99. After new tires. If you notice pulling or uneven tire wear — don't wait for the next interval.
A laser/camera-based 4-wheel alignment system that measures all four wheel angles simultaneously with sub-millimeter accuracy. It produces a printed before-and-after report showing every angle vs OEM specification. The most accurate alignment system available for shop use.
Most common causes: misaligned front wheels (toe or camber), unequal tire pressure, uneven tire wear, or a seized brake caliper dragging on one side. We check all four before attributing pull to alignment alone.
Yes — both brands. We install the lift, set the alignment, and document all angles. Post-lift alignment is mandatory — lifting changes caster and camber geometry. Trucks driven without post-lift alignment wear tires rapidly and handle unpredictably.
