WHAT IS A WINDOW REGULATOR?
The window regulator and its motor control the movement of your driver-side and passenger windows. Do you prefer being able to roll your windows up when it starts raining, or roll them down when it starts to get hot? Well, that’s all controlled by the window regulator and the window motor so you need to keep them in good working order to continue enjoying those luxuries.

But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered when it comes to window repair, window regulator replacement, and solving all your auto repair problems. Today, let’s go over how we can help you replace your window regulator to solve all kinds of serious or just outright annoying issues.
WINDOW REGULATOR PROBLEMS
There are a number of issues that can occur when the window system starts to go bad. One of the most common and easiest to identify is squeaking, especially as the parts wear and older motors struggle to live the window. This can be as minor as the window pane itself slightly coming in contact with the door as it moves, or serious like when the bearings are seriously fighting to move the window.
Another issue you might hear is clicking. This can happen when the motor is rolling over but fails to move the window. Sometimes it may eventually work and you may feel there’s no need to get it fixed, but you should know that the harder the window motor works to move, the quicker it’s going to break. Replacing window motors is our specialty of course so if that happens to you, just give us a call and Tedious Repairs will be glad to help.
Of course, the worst problem is the entire window getting stuck or not moving at all because some components stopped working. A common trick is to wiggle, push or otherwise move the window pane so it will become unstuck, but this can cause undue stress on the motor so try to avoid this whenever possible.
HOW WE CAN HELP
One of our most common (and rather popular) services is window regulator and motor replacement. It’s so easy to ignore car window issues or let your truck windows wear down until they literally stop working, and heck, we wouldn’t even blame you. You’re busy, we get it. But once you get that window working again, you’ll remember how nice it is to have control and surely thank us later.
We also do body repairs and collision repairs if you need them, as often that is related to windows not working in some way. Our window technicians will get the windows working again and ensure they won’t be further damaged due to internal issues like bent metal or loosened bolts. Our #1 concern is the quality of our labor and getting you back on the road safely.
LEADING WINDOW REGULATOR REPAIR IN CHICO
It may not be something you have to do regularly like an oil change or semi-regularly coolant replacement, but window repairs and diagnostics are always going to be a natural part of a vehicle’s life cycle eventually. Be sure to take care of the window motor and regulator system by not putting too much pressure on the window while it’s moving and not activating the window switches too carelessly (ie don’t let your kids mess with the switches too much if you can avoid it).
